佛山市星光传动机械有限公司前身是一家创建于1965年的国有军工企业——国营星光工模具厂，2002年完成国有转制，转制以来公司得到了飞速发展，2004年率先在同行业中通过ISO9001国际质量体系认证和国际质量信用AAA++等级认证，2009年通过瑞士SGS认证，先后荣获“中国机电行业标志性品牌”、“广东省著名商标”、“广东省名优产品”、“广东省民营科技企业”、“国家高新技术企业”、“中国齿轮行业50强”等称号，被列入“2011年佛山市工程技术研究开发中心”组建计划。公司拥有发明、实用新型等专利35项，是无级变速器、蜗杆减速器及R、S、K、F系列硬齿面齿轮减速机等多项减变速机国家行业标准的主要起草单位。公司是全国第一批“国家级征信企业”，同时还是国家火炬计划项目承担单位，中国减变速机行业协会理事单位，中国齿轮专业协会理事单位，佛山市机械装备行业协会副会长单位。星光传动依靠质量和技术走在了行业前列。
公司技术力量雄厚。现有员工400余人，工程技术人员40多名，其中享受国务院特殊津贴专家为首的专家团队和高级工程师10多名。公司拥有大型现代化加工中心、钻削中心、数探车床、蜗杆磨床、数控滚刃磨床、滚齿机、磨齿机、齿轮检测中心、万能工具检查仪等各类先进加工及检测设备211台，具备生产优质减变速机的综合实力，年产各类减变速机50余万台。
公司主要生产的产品有：JWB-X系列机械无级变速器，RV系列蜗杆减速器，B/JXJ系列摆线针轮减速机，NCJ系列齿轮减速机以及R、S、K、F系列斜齿减速机上百个型号，数千种规格。产品广泛应用于陶瓷、玻璃、食品、冶金、啤酒饮料、印染纺织、石油化工、仓储物流、木工机械、环保设备、印刷包装、制药皮革等各个行业。产品远销欧美、东南亚等国家和地区，拥有几十家经销商和售后服务机构。
